For our trip to Sweden we decided to buy a pair of cheap(ish) umbrella type strollers as we had heard that you could take the kids right up to the plane in the strollers, then they would be stored and would be available when you land. Now this sounds wonderful, but it didn’t quite work out that way.
Our flight was Toronto to Iceland then Iceland to Stockholm. We trundled up to the plane in Toronto and all worked well. So we folded the strollers up and left them at the doorway to the plane. In we went and had a very nice flight to Iceland (kids were awesome). When we arrived in Iceland I was expecting the strollers to be waiting for us as we exited the plane, but they were missing.
Ok, they must be getting transfered to the Stockholm flight. Our flight from Toronto arrived late so we had to rush to get to the next flight (rushing is a relative term when you have no strollers and a 4 mnth old and a 2 year old).
We made the next flight and off to Stockholm we went (worrying that we left our strollers in Iceland the whole flight). When we got to our seats we received all kinds of dirty looks from passengers.
“How dare you ruin my flight by bringing screaming children on the same plane” was what all the looks said. People just need to chill about small kids on planes, neither of them made so much as a peep on the flight and disturbed no-one. Yes I wanted to give every person on that flight a dirty look on the way out, but back to the strollers! We disembark in Stockholm and there are no strollers waiting for us at the door!
Once again panic starts to set in (and if you’ve seem the prices of strollers in Sweden you will understand). So we drag the kids down to the baggage area and by chance off to the side the strollers are on a belt by themselves with our carseats!
I was mighty relieved. Now these two strollers are getting a workout here and preforming ok I would say.

Here they are in action in Lindesburg carrying stuff, not children!
